Service Projects

When guests visit Josey Scout Lodge, we kindly request you complete a service project to preserve and improve our beautiful resources.

We've listed some possible projects below, but we're always open to new ideas.  Contact us at for more information.

All projects must be approved in advance by the Board of Trustees.

Fill in potholes in the parking lot

Clean and oil interior logs

Clean out rafters

Maintain landscaping at historical marker

Mow the lawn

Trim trees and shrubs

Clean out the fire pit

Clean the pine thatch off the roof

Clean out flowerbeds

Plant a new flowerbed

Build a flag retirement drop-box

Small painting projects


Refresh anti-slip texture on the access ramps

Varnish building sign (on Sam Houston Ave.)

Maintain latches on interior doors

Deep clean the floors

Sand and refinish floors

Paint totem poles
